No Spec!

I love this initiative! No Spec! is a movement encouraging designers and educating people who hire designers on why speculative design work is bad. I am very fortunate to currently work for a company that rejects any client asking for speculative design work. After coming out of the trade show exhibit industry where all design work is speculative, I feel I learned a great deal on the subject. I think the most important thing to remember about speculative design work is that it is always sub par, poorly researched, and can never fully meet the client's desires. Everyone loses in the world of spec. design work. This site's a good read, take a look.
