Josh Teague - Industrial Design
Josh Teague has some great insight into what products should be like.: simple, enjoyable to use, and uncluttered-true-to-form. Why hasn't Apple hired this guy yet!?

I like the way this video camera approaches the user. It doesn't try to beat them over the head with features, bells, buttons, and whistles. What Teague has realized is that consumers simply want easy use out of their technology. The things the consumer creates with their products will be their status symbol, not the price they pay for the product. Therefore, a smart product designer should empower the user instead of trying to impress them. This seems to hold a similar parallel vein of thought with Apple products like Garage Band where formerly complex tasks are brought down for everyone to use without losing functionality.

Wow! In the same paragraph with Apple & Garageband, two things I enjoy very, very much. Thanks for the nice words. You pretty much nailed my approach spot on, and though it doesn't always end up that way -- wouldn't it be nice??
